Provide us with a color photograph of any image and we will etch it into glass or stone. Unlike laser produced images that leave lines across the image, our methods and materials produce a quality finish resembling air brushing that is far superior to laser etched images using mechanical methods. Etch It Company creates art in glass in several different ways.

After a customer selects the object to be personalized, the art is selected and a specific method to etch the image is determined. Although we often use computer technology to generate the initial art, it is our hand processing of each piece that enables us to surpass most businesses doing similar work. In many cases we use materials of the latest technology to produce unique designs and superior quality. However, you will also find us using methods and materials from 100 years ago to achieve the beautiful effects of etched glass and stone carvings.

When etching glass picture frames, wine glasses, or champagne bottles, for example, we will generate a film positive or film negative. These films are used in conjunction with a photo resist material and the image is developed in our dark room. The photo resist is then carefully positioned onto the well-cleaned glass object to be etched. The entire object is then masked off and well sealed to prevent exposure to our etching process.

The object is then transferred into the blasting room and one of six sand blasting systems is used where all art is done by hand. Once the object is etched to the level of perfection we desire we remove the protective masking to expose the etching. It is only at this moment the operator fully realizes how well the task has been accomplished.

If the final product requires color fill it is usually completed at this time. Our color specialist fills most wine bottles or other glass objects provided by the customer. Multiple color filled objects require additional time and some special coatings but the end results can be astonishing.

A final cleaning completes the job and the item is prepared and made ready for the customer. We are always anxiously waiting on their reaction upon first seeing the completed piece. It is truly the reward of our efforts!
